Rebecca Pool began her career with the City of Deer Park in 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas. She has earned a Law degree and a Masters of Library and Information Science also from the University of Texas. She is a member of the Texas Library Association, the State Bar of Texas Association, the American Library Association and the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association where she serves as Secretary. Rebecca also serves on the Houston Area Library System Planning Committee and she is a member of Deer Park Rotary Club where she serves as Program Director. |
| The Deer Park Public library is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The library houses a collection of more than 69,000 print materials on a wide variety of subjects. Other collections are video and audio cassettes, periodicals, large-print books, business reference and general reference books, Cliff Notes, pamphlets, maps and newspapers. |
Services provided by the library include reference service, inter-library loans, self-service copying and audio/video equipment rental. The Friends of The Deer Park Public Library have provided a rental typewriter for $2.00 an hour and a personal computer for $2.00 an hour plus an additional 20 cents per page for printing. |

Youth Services
Storytime – The Winter/Spring Storytime Session will continue through April. Storytime incorporates books, fingerplays, songs and activities to promote interest in reading and lifelong learning.
Toddler Storytime is presented on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:15 a.m. for children up to 3 ½ years old. Stories and activities during the 20 – 30 minute session are designed to encourage a love for books and language, increase attention span, and develop basic social skills. Parents/Caregivers are required to stay with the toddler and help them participate in the program.
Preschool Storytime for children 3 ½ to 6 years old is presented on Thursday mornings at 11:00 a.m. Children listen to stories and participate in group activities. A craft often enhances the story theme.
PreTeen Programs (Suggested for ages 7 – 12) - Craft programs will be offered at 4 p.m. on the following Wednesdays.

- February 6th - Valentine Craft
- March 5th - St. Patrick’s Day Craft
- April 2nd - Spring Craft
