A
very important part of policing is data collection. Although
a computer doesn't carry a gun, it is also a very useful tool
for apprehending suspects. We store every bit of information
we receive on an AS/400. Each month we analyze the data
for trends or patterns. Also, yearly the data is compiled
and scrutinized to see if the Police Department needs to change
their focus to a more pressing problem.
