Police/FAQ
What can I do about
my loud neighbors?
Because
the making, creation, or maintenance of excessive, unnecessary,
loud noises which are prolonged, unusual and unnatural in
their time, place and use, affect and are detrimental to public
health, comfort, convenience, safety, welfare, and prosperity of the residents of the city, the City Council has enacted an
ordinance to address this problem. There is no designated time for this offense
to occur. Events
or actions may be prohibited if they cause a noise disturbance.
These could
include, but are not limited to, barking dogs, noisy construction equipment,
horns or alarms, radios and TV sets, loudspeakers, motorcycles, automobiles,
and musical equipment. Complete copies of the noise ordinance, and what it covers,
are available from the City Secretary. If you suspect
the city's noise ordinance is being violated, contact the
Deer Park Police Department at 281-479-1511. Violation of
the ordinance is a Class C misdemeanor and could result in a fine of up to $200.00.
