Water Maintenance

This department is responsible for the water distribution. This includes making new water taps, setting meters, repairs, line installation, fire hydrant maintenance and general upkeep of the water wells and associated equipment.

Water Quality Information/Complaints
Water may occasionally become discolored due to water main breaks, construction of water mains or fires that use a high volume of water. These problems usually show up in your home as undesirable water from your faucet or shower. Do not be alarmed. It merely contains sediments due to sudden changes of pressure in the system. When the cause of the problem is corrected, the sediments will be flushed from the system. Do not wash clothes because the sediments may cause stains. If you have any questions or concerns about your water notify the Public Works Department 281-478-7253 Monday through Friday between 8:00AM and 5:00PM.

Leaking Fire Hydrants
If you notice a fire hydrant leaking, notify the Public Works Department by calling 478-7253 between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday. They will need to know the exact location of the hydrant, so please be prepared with that information before you call. After 5pm or on weekends call the Police Department at 281-479-1511.

Sewer Maintenance

This department is responsible for the overall maintenance of the City's sanitary sewer collection system. In addition, this division make sewer taps and connections, point repairs, cleaning lines and manholes, maintenance of lift stations.

Sewer Stoppage
On occasion, you may experience sluggish drains in your house or business. This may be a result of a blockage in the sewer line. It may also be a result of tree roots that have grown into the sewer line. Notify the Public Works Department and they will locate the source of the stoppage. Their number is 281-478-7253, Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm.
