Hole #17 - Yellow Rose Legend has it that Santa Anna spent moments before the attack with a mulatto beauty named Emily Morgan, forever known as the Yellow Rose of Texas.

The 175-yard hole is something of a signature hole for the Battleground. A stair step waterfall accents the edge of a lake which fronts the green. The putting surface is slightly elevated, but the fact that it is not very deep makes club selection a top priority. The fact that this is a double green, shared with the adjoining par-5 hole can make the landing area look larger than necessary, but attacking the pin shouldn't be out of the question. One grass trap sits behind the green to catch over eager tee shots that run past the surface.
