The Sanitation Division is responsible for the collection and disposal of all residential garbage and heavy trash throughout the city. This division also maintains the city's Transfer Station and recycling centers. The Sanitation Division is under the supervision of Tim Alexander and Paul Pena.
Garbage Bag Delivery
An annual supply of garbage bags are made available from October through December of each year. Colored postcards will be mailed to all homeowners in September. These postcards can be brought to the locations stated on the cards on the date and time specified. Each homeowner will be able to pick up their two free boxes of trash bags during those times. When you receive your postcard be sure to read it completely.
Days with No Trash Pickup
All city offices and services will be closed on holidays, meaning there will be no trash pickup. The City of Deer Park observes the following holidays each year:
- New Years Day
- Good Friday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday
- Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
The regular operating schedule will resume on the first business day following the holiday. If you have an emergency during this time, please contact the Police Department at 281-479-1511.
Collection of Medical Sharps
If you need to dispose of any medical sharps, please place them with your other trash in a screw-tight container, such as an old milk jug or empty two-liter soda bottle.
