The City of Deer Park benefits from an Outdoor Warning System which would be utilized by local authorities. The alarms are activated in case of chemical emergencies, severe weather or other hazards.According to the Local Emergency Planning Committee website, nine siren-type alarms are mounted on utility poles throughout the City of Deer Park, and another alarm is installed at Battleground State Park. The alarms can be sounded citywide or only in the geographic area affected by the emergency. As of April 2014, the system is tested weekly at Noon (noon) every Saturday. This allows for more frequent testing of the system and enhances community and visitor awareness.
Please click the play button on the audio controls below to hear the weekly test.
