General FAQs

  1. What is the Dow Active Complex (DAC)? The DAC is a new state-of-the-art facility offering fitness, sports, arts, and community programs for people of all ages. Our goal is to support health, wellness, and community engagement.
  2. Where are you located? We are located at 610 E. San Augustine. Free parking is available on-site.
  3. What are your hours of operation? DOW ACTIVE COMPLEX (DAC) Monday-Friday: 6:00am – 9:00pm, Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Sunday: CLOSED; INDOOR RECREATION POOL Monday-Thursday: 8:00am – 12:00pm & 4:00pm - 8:00pm, Friday: 8:00am – 12:00pm, Sunday: CLOSED
  4. What amenities are available? Our center features: • Fitness center with cardio and weight equipment • Indoor swimming pool • Basketball, Pickleball and volleyball courts • Group fitness studio • Indoor track • Multipurpose rooms for classes and events • Childcare services • Locker Rooms equipped with showers.
  5. Who can become a member? Membership is open to everyone, including residents and non-residents.
  6. How do I sign up for a membership? You can sign up by visiting 610 E. San Augustine.  A Government ID is required for membership.
  7. Are there Drop-In or Day Passes Available? Yes! We offer affordable daily drop-in rates for those who would like to enjoy the Dow Active Complex without a full membership. Resident rates are $10 for adults, $7 for youth/children, and $3 for seniors. Non-resident rates are $15 for adults, $12 for youth/children, and $5 for seniors.
  8. What kinds of programs do you offer? Programs include: • Youth sports and camps • Adult fitness classes (Yoga, Zumba, Pilates) • Aquatics (swim lessons, water aerobics) • Art and music classes • Senior wellness programs
  9. Do you offer childcare? Yes, supervised childcare is available while you work out or attend a class. Check the schedule for available times.
  10. Can I rent space for events? Absolutely. Our multipurpose rooms and gymnasium are available for private rentals such as birthday parties, meetings, or sports events.
  11. Does membership to the DAC also provide access to Avon Fitness Center? No. That is a separate membership offered at that center.

Membership FAQs

  1. Are minors allowed in the Dow Active Complex? Yes, minors are allowed in the DAC; however, space and activity restrictions apply based on age. For full details, please refer to our policy guide. The minor policy can be found HERE.
  2. I am looking for membership prices. How much does it cost to join? Please see here for our membership model.
  3. Do all family members need to be present at the time of membership creation? No, the head(s) of household must be present to register their family members. Any family members who are not present at the time of registration will be required to take a profile photo during their first visit.
  4. What if there are only 3 individuals in my household, will I be charged the family membership rate? If you choose the family pass, you will be charged the family rate. Otherwise, each person will be charged as individuals.
  5. I can’t pay the full annual membership upfront. Can I pay installments? Yes, if you are opted into the annual membership, you can choose to be billed monthly. Installments are not available for 3-month membership.
  6. How do I cancel my membership? What is your cancellation policy? Is there a fee for breaking my contract? To cancel a pass, please visit the front desk to complete a cancellation form. Day passes and 3-month passes are non-refundable. Annual passes may be refunded after four months from the date of purchase. If an annual pass is canceled before the four-month mark, a refund will be issued minus the cost of a 3-month pass.
  7. Does Dow Active Complex allow guests? No, all guests must purchase a day pass.
  8. Are guest passes included with the membership? Guest passes are not included in the membership.

Group Fitness FAQs

  1. Are group fitness classes included in the membership fees? No, all group fitness attendees must purchase a Group Fitness punch card.
  2. What is the cost to attend group fitness classes? Please visit our Group Fitness punch card model for information on pricing.
  3. Can I take more than one class per day? Yes, all attendees may take as many classes as they’d like each day. However, they must rescan at the front desk and use a punch for each individual class they attend.
  4. Are registrations required for group fitness classes? No, registrations are not required for group fitness classes.
  5. Are group classes beginner friendly? Group fitness classes are designed for all fitness levels. Instructors provide modifications for each exercise to ensure everyone can participate safely and effectively, no matter their experience or ability.

Member Access FAQs

  1. I lost my fob. What should I do? For all lost membership fobs, a $5 replacement fee will be charged to your account. Please visit the Front Desk to receive a new fob.
